If you don't have WS_FTP you can download it here

Creating a New Profile
There are several steps for creating a new profile.

  1. Hit the New button.
  2. In Profile Name: type in www.netlabs.net
  3. In Host Name/Address: type in www.netlabs.net
  4. Leave Host Type: as Automatic detect (which is the default setting)
  5. In User ID: enter in your INL username
  6. In Password: enter in your INL password
  7. Then after you enter in that information hit the Apply button

Logging on
After you create a new profile, you can hit the OK button and WS_FTP will connect to www.netlabs.net. If you look in the photo above, you will see that WS_FTP has a split screen window display.

The left side of the screen is your Local System (eg: your computer), and the display on the right side is the Remote System (eg: www.netlabs.net).

Once you have logged in, you will see a listing of files on the right side (the Remote system), one listing should say public_html. What you will want to do is put your mouse arrow over the public_html directory, and double click on it.

Finding your files
After you have entered the public_html directory you will want to find your files (eg: the webpage you created) on your Local System. If you look on the left side of the split screen window, that is where all your files are on your hard drive.

You will need to scroll through them and double click on the directory that has your webpage files in it. Once you do that, you can begin uploading them.

Selecting files
The next step is to select the files for uploading. Once you have entered the directory where your files are stored, you will want to click on the first file at the top (mind you this is all on the left hand side. The Local System.), so it becomes highlighted. Then hold down your Shift key and select the last file in the directory.

You will notice now that all the files for your webpage have become highlighted.

Uploading
The last and final step is, once all your files are selected for uploading, you will notice two arrows in the center of the WS_FTP window.

One arrow is pointing to the left (at your local system) and one is pointing to the right (the remote system). All you need to do, is click on the arrow facing to the right, and your files will begin to upload.

Once the upload is complete, you will see a msg at the bottom of WS_FTP that says: 226 Transfer complete. You have now uploaded your webpage to INL.
